The Global Compact Pakistan Local Network ia an employer-led initiative formed on 22.12.2005 at the close of the Employer’s Federation of Pakistans launching ceremony of Global Compact in Pakistan. Through the Local Network, voluntary signatories to the Global Compact interact with each other to enhance their capability to respond to the business challenges arising out of their commitment to embrace the principles of Global Compact.

PUBLICATION:  The first Joint publication of Local Network in collaboration with ILO/EFP containing Global Compact Awareness Survey Report (400 Companies included in Survey), Sharing Best Practices in Global Compact principles /  implementation / CSR among Pakistani companies and Annual Report of GCPLN released in Dec,2007.

BUSINESS TALK CSR:  GCPLN started in September,2007 Business Talk CSR as a series of learning events focusing on one principle/ aspect of UNGC  each month. Designed as an experiential knowledge sharing between participants/ panel  of  experts drawn from business, Govt., NGOs, Civil Society, the event is organized in the premises of a GC-subscribing member of the Local Network involving stakeholders in awareness creation and lobbying for GC principles and till August,2008 11 Business Talk CSR meetings have been held. MOU WITH RBI:  GCPLN signed an MOU with RBI (Responsible Business Initiative) at Regional Network meeting at Seoul, Korea The MOU provides for partnership to develop CSR / GC criterion for evaluation of Network members on their CSR / Global Compact Principles Internalization..

CARING FOR CLIMATE:    The latest initiative of Network was launching of  “C4C : The Business Leadership Platform” in the 11th Business Talk CSR meeting held on 8th Aug,2008 at Karachi in which GC-Subscribing organizations were appealed to become C4C Champions by signing business leadership statement concerning Caring for Climate.
